Couples

Navigating a relationship with BPD can be challenging.

If you're here, you might be feeling overwhelmed
by the intensity of your partner’s emotions.

If you’re here, it's likely that this person is also incredibly important to you. It’s common to experience uncertainty about how to support them while also maintaining your own mental health and the balance of your relationship.

You might feel like you’re often trying to avoid triggering or upsetting your partner. The emotional highs and lows can leave you feeling disconnected, confused, and helpless. Guilt or regret over past relational conflicts might weigh on you, and you may be struggling with the frustration of previous unsuccessful attempts to seek help. Your partner’s behaviours and emotional intensity are symptoms of deeper struggles. Many people with BPD have experienced a lack of support throughout their life, and this is contributing to the complex dynamics you’re experiencing now.
